Mega Auction Date
The IPL 2025 mega auction will be held in Riyadh in November. Sources from the BCCI have also hinted at possible auction dates. The mega auction is expected to take place on either November 24 or 25. A BCCI source told PTI, “The IPL auction will be held in Riyadh, and all franchises have been informed. The likely dates are November 25 and 26.”
Over 200 Players to Go Under the Hammer
In the IPL 2025 mega auction, bids may be placed on 204 players, including many prominent names. The total budget left for all teams is 641.5 crore, which suggests high bids are expected on several players.
46 Players Retained
The franchises’ retention lists included a total of 46 players, with teams spending a combined total of 558.5 crore from their purse. KKR and Rajasthan Royals retained six players each, spending significantly, while Punjab Kings decided to retain the fewest, with only two players.
