MS Dhoni gave up the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before the start of IPL 2024 and everyone thought that it was his last season. However, now conflicting reports have started to emerge and it is somewhat believed that Dhoni could play for one more year. But all of it will depend on his physical condition.
Midway through IPL 2024, it was revealed that Dhoni is suffering from a leg muscle tear. He was struggling to run and despite that he kept for all the 14 matches of CSK in IPL 2024. Experts went on to say that Dhoni should not play if he is struggling and can’t bat up the order.
It seems Dhoni was himself not satisfied with the way he was playing. He is expected to go to London to get the necessary treatment for his muscle tear. If all is well before the IPL 2025 then Dhoni could end up playing another season. The decision regarding Dhoni’s retirement will come after the assessment of his muscle tear in London.

Many fans observed that Dhoni was quite emotional in the dugout after he was caught out during the RCB vs CSK match. He did not even wait for the RCB players to shake their hands. It was quite a disappointment for the five time champion of the Indian Premier league.
