IPL 2025 Auction: 4 Players Expected to be Retained by Each of the 10 Franchises

IPL 2025 Auction is soon coming up and the franchises are already in motion to find the best combination of players to be retained. BCCI is yet to declare the permitted number of retained players ahead of the auction. However, we expect at least 3 players to be retained and at least 1 player to be retained by franchises by using RTM in the auction. Therefore, we have analysed the IPL squads of all 10 teams to come up with a list of 4 players expected to be retained by each franchise.

Ravindra Jadeja, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul and Mitchell Starc are some of the high-profile players who are not expected to be retained by the franchises. Franchises like Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians want a mini-auction. They want to do away with the mega auction. On the other hand, franchises like Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings are in favour of only 1-2 retentions per team.
