After sweeping Bangladesh in the Test series, the Indian team will aim for a clean sweep in the T20 series as well. The first match of the three-game series will be played on Sunday at the newly-built Madhav Rao Scindia Stadium in Gwalior. In this series, Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana, and all-rounder Nitish Kumar may make their debuts. Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, and Axar Patel have been rested to prepare for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand.
The two big names in the team are captain Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Along with them, Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh, who were part of the T20 World Cup-winning team, are expected to be in the playing eleven. Abhishek Sharma, who scored a century against Zimbabwe, might open the batting with Sanju Samson. In the middle order, Rinku Singh will take charge. The spin department will be handled by Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi. Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav could make their debuts.
As for Bangladesh, they will have to get used to playing without their star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who retired from Test and T20 international cricket last month. India won both matches in the Test series against Bangladesh, but most of Bangladesh’s T20 team was not part of that squad.
