Brian Lara, born on 2 May 1969, is a former international cricketer from Trinidad. He is considered one of the greatest batsmen ever. Lara holds records for the highest individual score in first-class cricket (501 not out) and the highest Test innings score (400 not out). He also led the West Indies to victory in the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy. Lara has received many awards, including the Wisden Leading Cricketer and was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame in 2012.
