Pakistan is scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against Australia next month.

Gary Kirsten

Gary Kirsten has resigned as the head coach of Pakistan’s limited-overs cricket team with immediate effect. The former South African cricketer had signed a two-year contract with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in April this year. However, according to media reports, Kirsten decided to end his contract less than six months into the tenure.

Pakistan is scheduled to play a three-match T20 series against Australia next month. Just a day before Kirsten’s resignation, PCB announced the squad for the series on Sunday. Kirsten’s decision to step down as head coach comes as a surprise, especially with an important series around the corner.
