In the Hong Kong Sixes tournament, former England all-rounder Ravi Bopara created a sensation by hitting six sixes in a single over. Playing against the Indian team, led by captain Robin Uthappa, Bopara specifically targeted the opposing captain’s over. Uthappa ended up conceding 37 runs in his over, which included six sixes and a wide ball. During this explosive performance, Bopara completed his half-century in just 14 balls.
Bopara hit sixes off the first five balls of Uthappa’s over, after which Uthappa bowled a wide on the sixth delivery. On the seventh ball, Bopara struck yet another six, bringing the total to 37 runs from that over. After this over, Bopara faced Shahbaz Nadeem’s bowling and smashed a six on the very first ball, making it seven consecutive sixes.
Bopara, who was captaining the England team, retired after scoring 53 runs off 14 balls, including eight sixes. Samit Patel supported him well, scoring 51 runs off 18 balls with the help of four fours and five sixes. Thanks to the explosive innings by Bopara and Patel, England posted a score of 120/1 in just 6 overs.
