Punjab Kings, having retained only two uncapped players, has the largest purse remaining — over 100 crore rupees. This smart retention strategy has left them with the most money to spend in the auction.
Punjab Kings will enter the auction with a purse of 110.5 crore rupees, far more than any other team. If Punjab decides to target Rishabh Pant, it’s unlikely any other team could outbid them. Another key factor is that Punjab Kings are also in need of a captain, and Pant, having previously captained Delhi, might prefer joining a team where he can take on a leadership role.
