In the T20 World Cup, held in the USA and the West Indies, Amir took seven wickets in four matches.

Mohammad Amir

Pakistan’s fast bowler Mohammad Amir announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. This is the second time Amir has taken this decision. Earlier this year, he came out of retirement in March and was included in the team for the New Zealand series after a gap of three years and eight months. Amir was also part of Pakistan’s squad for this year’s T20 World Cup.

In the T20 World Cup, held in the USA and the West Indies, Amir took seven wickets in four matches. However, Pakistan’s journey ended in the group stage. Amir has not played for Pakistan since June and announced his retirement via social media. The pacer admitted that it was not an easy decision but felt it was the right time to give opportunities to the next generation.

Retirement Announced Through Social Media

In a social media post, Amir wrote, “After much thought, I have taken the difficult decision to retire from international cricket. Such decisions are never easy but inevitable. I believe this is the right time for the next generation to take responsibility and elevate Pakistan cricket to new heights. Representing my country has been the greatest honor of my life. I thank the Pakistan Cricket Board, my family, and my fans for their constant love and support.”
