The Test series against Bangladesh has been particularly challenging for Pakistan, and Babar Azam’s performance has been especially disappointing. In the second Test in Rawalpindi, Babar continued his poor form, scoring only 11 runs in the second innings after failing in the first innings. Notably, his wicket was taken by young Bangladeshi fast bowler Nayeem Hasan, who is playing only his third Test match. This ongoing failure has led to increasing scrutiny of Babar Azam.
Babar’s 16th Consecutive Failure:
Babar Azam has now failed in his last 16 Test innings, without scoring a single half-century. During these innings, his batting average has plummeted to just 20.68, with only 331 runs to his name and a highest score of 41.
Performance Against Bangladesh:
Babar’s performance in the series against Bangladesh has been poor from the start. He failed to score in his first two balls in the first Test, and in the second innings of that match, he was dismissed for 22 runs. In the second Test, he scored 31 runs in the first innings and was out for 11 runs in the second innings. His continued failures have negatively impacted Pakistan’s performance, contributing to their loss in the first Test and potentially affecting the second Test as well.
