Duleep Trophy Match Fees- How Much is BCCI Paying to the Players?

The first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 has concluded, and this year’s tournament has been particularly special as several prominent Indian players participated. Big names like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Mayank Agarwal, and Shreyas Iyer were seen playing in this edition of the Duleep Trophy.

There’s a lot of buzz around this season’s Duleep Trophy. Based on the players’ performances in the first round, the Indian team for the first Test match against Bangladesh has been selected. Fans are also quite eager to know the salaries of the players participating in this tournament. Let’s take a look at how much players earn in the Duleep Trophy.

Duleep Trophy Match Fees Breakdown

Players participating in the Duleep Trophy receive their salaries based on their Ranji Trophy experience. According to a Cricbuzz report, players who have played 41 or more Ranji matches receive ₹60,000 per match day. Those with 21 to 40 Ranji matches get ₹50,000 per match day, while players with fewer than 20 matches receive ₹40,000 per match day.

Winning Team Gets ₹1 Crore

Previously, the winning team of the Duleep Trophy was awarded ₹50 lakh, but the BCCI later increased the prize money. Now, the winning team receives ₹1 crore, while the runner-up team gets ₹50 lakh. As for the Deodhar Trophy, the winning team in that tournament is awarded ₹40 lakh, and the runner-up gets ₹20 lakh.

Akash Deep and Yash Dayal Get Selected

Players who performed well in this year’s Duleep Trophy have also been selected for India’s first Test against Bangladesh. Akash Deep, who took 9 wickets in one match, has been included in the Indian squad. Yash Dayal, who performed well in both the IPL and domestic cricket, has also earned a spot.
