A series of four T20 matches is being played between Pakistan and England before the T20 World Cup 2024. The first T20 match between the two teams was canceled due to rain. In the second T20 match, the England team won by 23 runs. Now the third T20I match between the two teams will be played on May 28. But even before this a bad news has come for the England team. England captain Jos Buttler will not play in the third T20 International. The big reason for this has come to light.
According to the reports, Jos Buttler is going to become a father. His wife Louise is going to be the mother of their third child. Buttler did not even attend the afternoon training session in Cardiff. For this reason, it is not possible for him to participate in the third T20I match against Pakistan. But it is not yet clear whether he will be available to play in the fourth and last T20 of the series or not. England has to play its last T20 match against Pakistan on 30 May. After this, the very next day the England team is going to West Indies for the T20 World Cup.
Jos Buttler had already confirmed that he would be present at the birth of the child. This increased the possibility of him missing England’s first group game against Scotland on 4 June. Moeen Ali is currently the vice-captain of England. He can take over the captaincy of England in the T20I match against Pakistan. He said that obviously if it happens, it is a big honor. As in all the time. Nothing much will change. Hopefully the baby arrives at the right time and Jos Buttler will not miss too many matches.
Jos Buttler not playing in the third T20I match is no less than a shock for England. He is in excellent form and in the second T20 match, he single-handedly led the England team to victory. Butler had scored 84 on 51 balls. Ben Duckett can open in place of Butler in the third T20 match. This series is very important in terms of preparations for both England and Pakistan teams before the T20 World Cup.
