The Pakistan cricket team is often surrounded by controversies, with major players frequently finding themselves in trouble. A similar situation is unfolding with Fakhar Zaman, who recently opposed Babar Azam’s exclusion from the Pakistan team, leading the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to issue a show-cause notice to him. Reports suggest that Fakhar Zaman has now responded to the notice, explaining why he supported Babar Azam. However, there are also reports that Fakhar Zaman’s selection in the Pakistan team is now highly unlikely.

What did Fakhar say about Babar?

According to Pakistani media reports, Fakhar Zaman explained in his response to the PCB that Babar Azam is one of the best batsmen in the world, which is why he voiced his opinion on social media regarding Babar’s exclusion. Fakhar stated that he believes Babar Azam should be given opportunities during tough times and clarified that he did not criticize the selection committee. Fakhar has submitted his response to the PCB, but it seems his troubles are far from over.

Will Fakhar be selected in future?

Reports indicate that Fakhar Zaman’s entry into Pakistan’s ODI and T20 teams is now uncertain. Recently, Fakhar Zaman failed a fitness test, significantly reducing his chances of making a comeback. Pakistani media also claim that Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi will return to the team only for the series against Australia and may be excluded from the series against Zimbabwe. Both Babar and Shaheen were dropped from Pakistan’s Test team after the first Test match in Multan. Following their exclusion, Pakistan won the second Test, making it unlikely for them to play in the third Test.
