Pakistan is currently on a tour of Zimbabwe, where they secured a victory in the first T20I, winning by 57 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. In this match, Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf achieved a significant milestone, becoming the leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in T20 internationals.

Pakistan’s Leading Wicket-Taker in T20Is

Haris Rauf bowled 3 overs, conceding 17 runs and taking 2 wickets in the first T20I against Zimbabwe. With these 2 wickets, he surpassed Shadab Khan to become Pakistan’s most successful bowler in T20I cricket.

Haris Rauf Breaks Record in 28 Fewer Matches

Shadab Khan had taken 107 wickets in 104 T20I matches. Haris Rauf, however, broke this record in just 76 matches, claiming 109 wickets—28 matches fewer than Shadab.

Mohammad Rizwan Praises Haris Rauf

Pakistan’s ODI captain, Mohammad Rizwan, praised Haris Rauf for his achievement, saying, “What can I say about my brother? The whole world knows his talent.”

World’s Leading T20I Wicket-Taker

The world record for the most wickets in T20Is belongs to New Zealand’s Tim Southee, who has taken 164 wickets in 126 matches. At 31 years old, Haris Rauf still has a long way to go, but if he plays as many matches as Southee, he could surpass him in the wickets tally.

Schedule for the Next Two T20Is

The first T20I between Pakistan and Zimbabwe has been played, with two more matches remaining in the series. The second match will also be held in Bulawayo on December 3, followed by the third and final T20I on December 5, also in Bulawayo.
