ICC Champions Trophy is returning after a gap of 8 years in 2025. The tournament is scheduled to be hosted by the defending champions, Pakistan from 19 February to 9 March. All the stadiums in Pakistan are undergoing renovations to meet the international standards set by ICC. However, the PCB could suffer a major setback as the Indian Cricket Team might not travel to Pakistan for the tournament.
It is common knowledge that India and Pakistan do not play bilateral series and only face off in the ICC tournaments. The Indian governments has strictly said that India will not go to Pakistan for any series and will not invite them to India for the same. However, when it comes to the ICC tournaments, the government has allowed the two teams to clash at neutral venues or on the Indian soil.
But there is reluctance to send Team India to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025. According to the recent reports, the Indian government has directed the BCCI to request a change in venue for the Indian Cricket Team games in the tournaments. BCCI is already moving ahead with the order by requesting ICC to allow India to play games at a neutral venue.

There is a high possibility that the matches of Indian Cricket Team will be shifted to either Sri Lanka or Dubai. PCB is opposing this as they may suffer great losses if India does not visit Pakistan. ICC is soon expected to announce the change in venue for India games. Despite PCB’s opposition, ICC is likely to side with the BCCI on this matter.
Also, if the Indian Cricket Team reaches semi-finals or finals then that game would also be played outside of Pakistan. As India is not willing to play any matches on the Pakistani spoil. The full schedule for ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is expected to be announced in the next 3-4 months.
