Rishabh Pant has finally made a comeback to the Indian Test Team, as he was announced in the squad for the series against Bangladesh. The left handed wicketkeeper batter has come out strong from his hiatus after the unfortunate accident. Since his return to cricket in 2024, Pant has been performing everywhere from domestic to international.
According to the recent reports, Chennai Super Kings want Rishabh Pant to be one of their main players starting from IPL 2025. Pant, who has always been a great admirer of MS Dhoni, could flourish under the guidance of latter in the camp of CSK.
Even though Ruturaj Gaikwad was made the captain of CSK in IPL 2024, the CSK management could end up giving the captaincy to Rishabh Pant if he ends up joining their team. Pant has captained Delhi Capitals in IPL and has even reached a final with them. However, he is yet to lift the IPL trophy.

Delhi Capitals is looking to establish a new framework for their squad. Their management asked the BCCI to allow only 1 or 2 retentions ahead of the Mega Auction. BCCI is yet to make a final decision regarding that. If CSK does not manage to retain MS Dhoni due to the new retentions policies then they will definitely try to bring in Rishabh Pant as the replacement for future.
Everything depends on the decision of BCCI about the retention policy in IPL 2025 Mega Auction. There are also rumours of Suryakumar Yadav taking the captaincy of Kolkata Knight Riders and shifting to their team.
