In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, bowlers shone brightly while batsmen faced challenging conditions. Team India clinched the title, with Jasprit Bumrah named Player of the Tournament. Bumrah set a unique record: becoming the first player in T20 World Cup history to win the Player of the Tournament award without scoring a single run throughout the tournament.
He had just one batting opportunity, during which he was dismissed without scoring. Bumrah’s exceptional bowling performance saw him take a total of 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.17, the best among bowlers who bowled over 100 balls in any Men’s T20 World Cup. He conceded only 12 boundaries, including just two sixes, throughout the tournament.
