Indian Test and ODI team captain Rohit Sharma has been blessed with happiness at home as he has become a father for the second time. His wife, Ritika Sajdeh, has given birth to a baby boy. Rohit Sharma already has a daughter named Samaira. This joyful news comes just ahead of the Australia tour for the Indian captain.
It is worth noting that the Indian Test team is currently in Australia for a five-match Test series as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first match is scheduled to start on November 22 in Perth. Initially, it was said that Rohit Sharma might not play in the first Test. However, now that he has welcomed his baby, it is expected that he will be available for the Perth Test. Currently, Rohit Sharma has not joined the team in Australia, while the rest of the Indian squad has already reached and started practicing at the WACA Stadium in Perth. Meanwhile, Rohit’s wife, Ritika, gave birth to their son on Friday, so he is expected to join the team soon.
KL Rahul is also expecting to become a father soon
On another note, Indian team star player KL Rahul is also expecting to welcome a child. Recently, Rahul’s wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty announced her pregnancy.
Ritika’s Post Revealed the News
Rohit and Ritika had kept this happy news under wraps until now. However, when Rohit decided not to travel to Australia, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar criticized him for it. Former Australian cricketer Aaron Finch, however, expressed a different opinion. Finch said, “I completely disagree with Sunny (Sunil Gavaskar). Rohit Sharma is the captain of the Indian cricket team. If you need to stay at home because your wife is about to give birth, that is a beautiful moment, and you take as much time as you need for that.”
Ritika Sajdeh later tagged Aaron Finch’s official Instagram handle and posted a ‘salute’ emoji. This post sparked discussions that happiness was on the way for Rohit Sharma’s family, and soon, there would be the sound of a newborn in their home.
