The Indian team will tour Australia this November. At the end of the year, the two teams will play a five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will include a day-night Test. Before this day-night Test, which will be held in Adelaide, the Indian team will play a two-day day-night practice match to acclimatise to the conditions with a pink ball. The first Test of the five-match series between India and Australia will begin on 22 November in Perth. This will be the first five-Test series between these teams since the 1991-92 season.

Cricket Australia has announced on its website that the Indian team will play a two-day day-night practice match against the Prime Minister’s XI at Manuka Oval in Canberra, starting from 30 November. This practice match has been scheduled to help the Indian team prepare for the day-night Test in Adelaide. India had previously played a day-night Test during their 2020-21 tour of Australia, which ended in defeat. In that Test, India was bowled out for just 36 runs in their second innings, resulting in an eight-wicket loss.

The last Test series between the two countries was held in 2023, when the Australian team toured India for a four-Test series, which India won 2-1. India has won the last four Test series against Australia by a 2-1 scoreline.
