Bangladesh’s squad for the three-match T20 series against India has been announced. On Monday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board revealed a 15-member team. Shakib Al Hasan had announced his immediate retirement from T20 Internationals before the second Test, making this Bangladesh’s first T20 series after his retirement. The series will begin on 6th October. Najmul Hossain Shanto has been named as the captain. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz returns to the T20 squad after 14 months. Left-handed opener Parvez Hossain Emon and left-arm orthodox spinner Rakibul Hasan have also made a comeback.

India’s team was announced earlier by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team, while Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been rested. Abhishek Sharma, who played in the T20 series against Zimbabwe, gets an opportunity. Wicketkeepers Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma have been included, while KL Rahul has not been picked for the T20 series. Fast bowler Mayank Yadav, who impressed in IPL 2024, has earned his first call-up, and Varun Chakravarthy returns to the team after three years.
