However, there is a surprising name on the list that has caught everyone’s attention is a player who has already been retained for IPL 2025. This has left everyone puzzled, raising questions about whether this player will actually go to the auction or not. Let us explain the full story.

Name Appears in Auction List Despite Being Retained

For IPL 2025, the 10 teams have retained a total of 47 players. The Delhi Capitals have kept four players: Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Tristan Stubbs, and Abhishek Porel. Surprisingly, Tristan Stubbs’ name appears on the auction list at the 253rd position, with a base price of 1-5 crore rupees. This inclusion happened by mistake, meaning Stubbs is still part of the Delhi team and will not be part of the auction.

Tristan Stubbs has been in the IPL since 2022, initially playing for Mumbai for the first two seasons. Delhi Capitals signed him for IPL 2024 for 50 lakh rupees. Stubbs had an impressive IPL 2024 season, scoring 378 runs in 14 matches at an average of 54 and a striking rate of 190.91, including three half-centuries. As a result, Delhi decided to retain him for 10 crore rupees.

Delhi Capitals’ Retained Players

Axar Patel is the most expensive retention for Delhi Capitals at 16.5 crore rupees. Kuldeep Yadav has been retained for 13.25 crore rupees, Tristan Stubbs for 10 crore rupees, and Abhishek Porel for 4 crore rupees. Porel is the only uncapped player among them.
