A team being bowled out for just 7 runs in an international match may sound surprising, but Ivory Coast set this embarrassing record against Nigeria. This also marks the lowest total in T20 history, as well as the lowest in T20 internationals. Nigeria won the match by 264 runs, which was held at the Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval in Lagos.
In the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Africa Qualifier Group C match in Lagos, Ivory Coast was bowled out for a mere 7 runs and suffered a crushing 264-run defeat. Interestingly, 4 out of the top 5 lowest scores in international cricket were recorded in 2024.
First Instance of a Single-Digit Team Score
This is the first instance of a single-digit team score in men’s T20 internationals. The previous lowest score in this format was 10 runs, which had occurred twice before. One instance was in September 2024 when Mongolia was dismissed for 10 runs against Singapore, and the other was in February 2023 when the Isle of Man was bowled out for 10 runs against Spain.

In terms of the biggest wins in men’s T20 internationals, Nigeria’s 264-run victory is the third largest. Last month, Zimbabwe defeated Gambia by 290 runs, and in September 2023, Nepal beat Mongolia by 273 runs in the Hangzhou Asian Games.
