An orange alert has been issued for March 22, with a 74 percent probability of rainfall during the day and a 90 percent chance in the evening. If the rain persists, it could disrupt the opening match of IPL 2025. The outcome of the KKR vs RCB game remains uncertain, and the opening ceremony might also face interruptions due to bad weather.

Meanwhile, there are discussions about rescheduling another match in Kolkata. The fixture between KKR and Lucknow Super Giants on April 6, originally set to take place at Eden Gardens, might be shifted to Guwahati. Kolkata Police has reportedly expressed its inability to provide security due to Ram Navami celebrations in the city. Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) President Snehasish Ganguly confirmed this information via news agency PTI.
