Suryavanshi, a left-handed batter, scored 93 runs in five innings during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy for Bihar. His performance earned him a spot in the Under-19 Challenger Trophy and the Under-19 Quadrangular, which included teams from Bangladesh and England. Despite this, he was not selected for India’s squad for the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa later in January 2024.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, aged 13, scored the fastest hundred by an Indian in Under-19 Tests. He reached this milestone against Australia’s Under-19 team at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday. Vaibhav, who plays for Bihar, hit his hundred in just 58 balls in his first red-ball match for India’s Under-19 team.
His 58-ball hundred is the second-fastest in Under-19 Tests, only behind England’s Moeen Ali, who scored a hundred in 56 balls in 2005. Vaibhav hit 14 boundaries and 4 sixes in his powerful innings. He was run out on 104 from just 62 balls, as India put up a strong reply to Australia’s first innings total of 293.
