KL Rahul was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore at the IPL Mega Auction on Sunday. Four teams were interested in the former Lucknow Super Giants captain, but DC won the bid.
Kolkata Knight Riders started the bidding at Rs 2 crore, and then Royal Challengers Bangalore joined in. RCB stopped at Rs 10.75 crore. Chennai Super Kings also showed interest, but in the end, Delhi Capitals secured Rahul, who is 32 years old.
Although Rahul’s performance last season wasn’t as strong, his IPL record is impressive. He has scored 4683 runs in the tournament, with a strike rate of 134.61. He has scored four centuries, with his highest score being 132* in 2020, a season in which he won the Orange Cap.

After facing a lot of criticism, Rahul made a strong comeback in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He scored 77 runs in the second innings in Perth, helping India to their first 200-plus opening stand in Australia.
