IND vs BAN 1st Test Playing XI- Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant IN — Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul OUT

The Test series between India and Bangladesh is now just a few days away, with the first match scheduled to be played in Chennai starting from September 19. The BCCI has already announced the squad for this series. Among the 16 players selected for the first Test, it will be interesting to see who will sit out and who will make it to the playing XI.

India’s top four for the first match seems quite certain. Captain Rohit Sharma will open the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. At number three, Shubman Gill is almost guaranteed to take the spot. Virat Kohli is set to come in at number four. Now, the question is, who will bat after them?

Sarfaraz Khan is expected to be picked ahead of KL Rahul, due to his good performance for India in the previous Test series. Despite returning around two years later, Rishabh Pant is expected to be played as the specialist wicketkeeper batter, ahead of Dhruv Jurel.

In terms of bowling all-rounders, India has several options. Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, and Ravichandran Ashwin are also expected to play. The notable thing about these players is that they can contribute significantly with both ball and bat. Since the match is in Chennai, playing three spinners seems like a logical choice. For fast bowling, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are likely to be part of the playing XI.
